A fresh burst of force has arrived in Philadelphia's iconic Gayborhood with the opening of The Small Gay Pub Philly, a cozy yet elevated Homosexual bar making its debut at 102 South 13th Street.

Originally from Washington, D.C., the bar brings more than cocktails and curated decor, it brings a message: Queer spaces should complete more than protect the community, they should commemorate it.

Co-owners Dito Sevilla, Benjamin Gander and Dusty Martinez describe Philadelphia as a second home and said this expansion is rooted in love for the city and its wealthy LGBTQ+ history.

"We did it because of our treasure for the city," said Sevilla. "It's something we've always dreamed of, and it's a natural fit."

The Little Gay Pub is unlike any other exclude, the co-owners said — intentionally designed with warmth, thoughtfulness and legacy in mind. "I think it's the care that we put into the blueprint, the decor, the drinks we choose, the environment," Sevilla added. "Our objective in making The Small Gay Pub Philly is where the community isn't just safe — but celebrated."

That celebration is noticeable in every inch of the space, where walls are covered in meaningful art and memorabilia, including

It’s been a while since a new queer bar has opened in Philly’s iconic Gayborhood. But that changes today. The Little Gay Pub, located at 102 South 13th Street on the corner of Drury Street, is an elevated bar from Washington D.C. The three friends behind the initiative — co-owners Benjamin Gander, Dusty Martinez, and Dito Sevilla — just announced they’ll be opening their Philly location with a few local twists added to the decor and menu.

Among them, a designed banana daiquiri. The imbibe nods to “The Father of Modern Philadelphia,” Edmund Bacon, who had a thing for the rum-based cocktail. O

At the centre of Philadelphia’s LGBTQ+ scene is, of course, its Gayborhood, an enclave in Center Urban area Philadelphia that’s home to gay bars, clubs and more.

Most of the fabulous venues on this list are found there, but the rest of the city is still alive with culture and nightlife, like the piano lounge for those looking to belt out a tune (or six) and a leather dungeon for chaps-clad daddies and those who love them. Whatever your vibe, read on for the best gay bars in Philly.
