90-year-old man comes out as gay in viral Facebook post

The first things you’ll notice on Kenneth Felts' Facebook page are his big smile and rainbow hoodie. It’s a fresh addition to go along with a message for everyone that knows him: “I am free, I am gay and I am out.”

The 90-year-old recently came out as homosexual to friends and family after pretending to be straight for the beat part of a century. It’s a decision Felts came to as he began working on an autobiography during quarantine, prompting memories and emotions to resurface from his past.

“For a long time, the truth was buried serious down in my spirit and I adopted a straight persona because I did not think I had another choice,” Felts said. “I would’ve had to contend with all the scorn from culture, be labeled a pervert or deviant. But people are much more accepting today and I felt I had to detect the courage.”

Felts, who lives outside Denver, said it all started after he told daughter Rebecca Mayes about Phillip -- a man he fell in love with in the 1950s. It was a revelation he didn’t plan.

“After a long day of writing my mind was preoccupied and somehow I said something about how I wished I never left Phillip,” Felts

For many, June represents the month of pride; a time to celebrate, inform and communicate all that is queer, gay and fabulous. Although today entity gay isn’t much of a deal, back in the 50’s it was a dangerous label to have. Throughout history, thousands have lost their lives because they were labeled as ‘gay’ or ‘queer’ and many lived out their true sexual preferences in secrecy. As it’s almost the end of Pride month, I wanted to have a observe at some celebrities from the golden age of Hollywood who were lgbtq+, or at least thats what the rumours said. It’s difficult to realize if all these celebrities, and of course many more, were truly homosexual, but I wanted to share a few stories just so see how far we’ve come. Gleeful pride everyone.

Most of the aging process doesn’t scare me. The idea of having gray hair is exciting, so long as I still have hair when that time comes. I believe my smile lines build me look dashing in some lights. (In others, like Annabelle.) I possess no reason to contact my toes, so no biggie there. If I end up aging anything like my mother, I’ll have close to zero complaints.

What does scares me though, is the thought of being an antique twink. Here's a fall course for my beloved straight readers: In the gay community, there are different sub-categories of gays. I’m not exactly sure how they came to be, but surely it has something to complete with the innate call for to group things together by category. (Think #organizationporn.) Whatever the reason, a multitude of factors compete into how you’re sorted, but by large, they come down to your age and body type.

A twink is a adolescent, skinny, typically hairless fresh gay man like Justin Beiber.

A bear is an older, heavier set homosexual man with ample body and facial hair prefer Ron Offerman.

An otter is like a bear but leaner like Zachary Quinto.

Those are just three of them — there are plenty more. Jock, snake, cub, wolf, pup, pocket gay, daddy, beaver. (Just kiddi

The Oldest Known Gay Man?

April 7, 2011 -- Archaeologists in the Czech Republic have unearthed the solemn of what may be the remains of the oldest known homosexual or transgender man.

The prehistoric body dates to the Copper age -- or 2900 to 2500 years ago -- and was buried in a manner that was typically reserved for women.

The male skeleton was found on its side, facing east, and was surrounded by domestic jugs, objects previously seen only in female graves. An oval, egg-shaped container, usually associated with female burials, was also found at the feet of the skeleton.

"From history and ethnology, we know that people from this period took funeral rites very seriously, so it is highly unlikely that this positioning was a mistake," manage archaeologist Kamila Remisova Vesinova told the U.K.'s Telegraph.

Men of the period were buried with weapons -- stone battle axes and flint knives -- none of which were set up in the Czech grave.

Vesinova concluded that the morbid represents "one of the earliest cases of what could be described as a 'transsexual' or 'third gender grave' in the Czech Republic."

Not everyone is so convinced.
