Stars You Were Surprised to Learn We're *Not* Gay?
In the 80's I was convinced Ray Parker, Jr. was gay.
He gave an interview where he was talking about all the groupies that were constantly throwing themselves at him, and that he didn't ever fuck any of them. He said something to the effect of "so, I am always labeled as 'gay' because I'm not out there having all this sex with all these women. That's okay, I don't mind it if that's what they think." I was like, "aha! No straight man would ever say that!"
A little later, he came out with that song "Girls Are More Fun", and I thought "Hmmm. He's just trying to deflect all the rumors about him." After that, he faded from the music scene, and I just assumed he settled in to happy gay domesticity. Decades later, I see some interview with him in a magazine, and he's married to a female and has all these kids.
He's probably wishing he fucked a few of those groupies way endorse in the day, though.
