We possess been to Gran Canaria over 8 times now and for good reason. It is one of the most welcoming and gay friendly destinations we have ever travelled to and has some unbelievable gay nightlife.
The majority of the gay bars in Gran Canaria can be found in the Yumbo Centre in Maspalomas. The Yumbo centre is a large multi level outdoor shopping centre by night and home to the biggest gay scene in Gran Canaria by night.
On our last visit we counted that there were over 30 gay bars and clubs in the Yumbo Centre alone ranging from drag bars, to casual bars, clubs and cruising bars.
We are always completely spoilt for preference when it comes to choosing a gay lock in Gran Canaria which is why we hold put together a shortlist of our personal favorites. [no_toc]
The idea (or challenge) is to follow this list in order for the perfect big homosexual night out in the Yumbo Centre!
Please note, the Yumbo Centre gets super busy, especially during event and it’s known for pickpockets – we hold never had a difficulty but just be aware.

Best Gay Bars in Gran Canari
Most of the gay nightlife is centred in the south of the island in Playa del Inglés, concentrated in two shopping centres - the Yumbo and the Cita - though the Avenida de Tirajana has seen recent venues open in the past couple of years. The gay scene in Gran Canaria has something to offer for all age groups and interests, including bears, leather, mature men, drag and daddies. Most of the people you will meet in the bars and clubs there will be tourists - though at the weekends, more spanish locals visit Playa del Inglés for a night out.
Bears
The Gran Canaria gay scene has become increasingly bear-friendly over recent years, and there's now a expansive range of venues where bears and the male lover men who like them will feel more than comfortable. There are assigned bear bars like the Men's Bar and Barenhohle, but you won't locate yourself alone in Construction or Cruise, both of which have a leathery beary edge to them. or in Hummel Hummel, which is very well-liked with older men (and others).
