HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD Magic Reworked — Review
First things first: it is indeed much gayer, if still not as gay as it could be.
Since its West End debut in 2016, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has attracted intense fan interest around its central relationship. The close bond between Harry Potter’s son Albus and Draco Malfoy’s son Scorpius forms the emotional core of Jack Thorne’s perform, which follows the pair’s doomed effort to “set history right” by stealing a time turner and saving Cedric Diggory’s animation nineteen years in the past. (It goes false, of course, and complications ensue.)
Thorne’s original text, co-conceived with director John Tiffany and J.K. Rowling (more on her later) does not demand Albus and Scorpius’ bond be played as a burgeoning intimacy. But Tiffany and first co-stars Sam Clemmett and Anthony Boyle certainly leaned into that reading in the play’s first iteration, playing the duo’s journey as a love story even when the sms sometimes insisted otherwise. Choreographer Steven Hoggett even fashioned a mournful, romantic “Staircase Ballet” for a scene where the two are forced apart.

Scorbus Coming Out rec list
So last Tuesday was National Coming Out Day and I didn’t really perform anything to mark the occasion. I came out to my friends and family when I was 13 and I’m about to turn 31. Entity in a monogamous connection with a man gives the illusion that I am heterosexual, but I was once very reveal about my bisexuality, I even founded our tall school’s GSA. However this post isn’t about me, it’s to celebrate the wonderful Scorbus coming out stories that have enter out post Cursed Minor.
Most of these are one shots but there are a few chaptered stories at the bottom. If you know of any other Scorbus fics that feature coming out as an important part of the plot please reblog to add on to this list. While I personally see Albus and Scorpius’ coming out to their families as a pretty easy process (I assume the parents figured it out before they did) I favor that authors have explored different dynamics. I wish that anyone struggling with coming out themselves can take courage from these stories. I’m also always available to chat.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has hinted that Harry Potter's son, Albus Severus Potter, might be gay.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the onstage sequel to the beloved Harry Potter movie and book series set 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts. In the play, Harry and Ginny Weasley's second son, Albus, is heading to Hogwarts at the same hour as Draco Malfoy's son, Scorpius.
Although their fathers famously hated each other, Albus and Scorpius have an immediate connection. However, Albus and Scorpius' close friendship upsets both of their fathers.
